Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities) 1


Main purpose of job:


To closely work with the Information Technology Team based in São Paulo, providing high quality and timely support to customers on the different computer systems available in the Embassy and Consulates.

Assist the ICT Team across the Brazil Network with general Information and Communication Technology (ICT) administration which include: general ICT support to users, inventories administration, mobile phones usage audit, security policy controls, computer networking problems troubleshooting and computer hardware and software related issues.


Roles and responsibilities:


  • To support the ICT team of the British mission in Brazil with their daytoday Information and Communication tasks on the different computer and telephone networks.
  • Provide general support to customers on Hardware and Software in general (including desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, tablets, mobiles phones and Microsoft Software
  • MS Office 365 suite) as well as adhoc IT maintenance.
  • Ensure that appropriate fault escalation procedures are followed when necessary.
  • Ad hoc support for the ICT and Internal Comms Team (information searches, handling related administrative tasks, etc).
  • Liaise with suppliers and service providers when required.
  • Maintain uptodate hardware/software inventories.
  • Assist with official mobile usage audit.
  • Assist with control of Security Operation Procedures.
  • Assist users with control of ICT elearning.
  • Control ICT stock consumables.
  • Escorting contractors and suppliers within the official offices and properties
Essential qualifications, skills and experience 1


Essential on arrival:


  • Be an undergraduate student of Information Technology or ICT related fields.
  • Be at least in the 4th semester (2nd year) of graduation and have at most 6 months to finish graduation.
  • Be interested in ICT support and/or administrative work.
  • Have at least intermediary communications skills in written and spoken English.
  • Be enthusiastic, proactive, curious and selfmotivated, with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

Knowledge on Microsoft tools especially office365 suite

Employees who are not liable to pay local income tax on their Mission salary, eg some non-local national staff and some spouses or partners of UK diplomatic staff, will have their salaries abated by an equivalent amount.

Eligibility to work and live in Brazil is required.

Working patterns:

Hybrid, with 3 days a week in the office. May change in the future.
