Credit and Collections Associate

Position Overview

Essential Responsibilities
-
Perform end-to-end management of the assigned customer A/R portfolio, including tasks such as account setup, cash collections, and dispute management.
-
Engage in collection activities by contacting customers, sending statements, reminder notices, and invoices, as well as processing payments.
-
Review sales orders on credit hold and approve their release.
-
Reconcile A/R accounts.
-
Address customer service and billing inquiries.
-
Manage and resolve disputes.
-
Process credit card transactions and monitor monthly auto-pay activities.
-
Maintain a comprehensive log of customer contacts and collection activities.
-
Make monthly recommendations on bad debt reserves.
-
Act as a liaison between applicable business units, the Order-to
  • Cash team, and customers to ensure a smooth process flow while maintaining high customer service.

Demonstrate creative risk management to achieve win/win situations between the company and customers.
-
Handle third-party agency collection placement and bankruptcy processes and documentation.
-
Provide timely and concise information on major past-due accounts and orders on hold to relevant stakeholders, such as BU controllers, sales, and the CMAA.
-
Generate reports as requested.
-
Participate in acquisition and integration activities, including briefing management on integrating systems, accounts, clients, policies, etc., of acquired companies.

Continuously improve productivity and efficiency through process improvement initiatives, effective time management, and change management.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
-
1+ years of experience in credit and collections and customer-facing roles with increasing responsibilities.
-
Strong portfolio management experience in a company with significant B2B end-user sales activities.
-
Effective with analytical skills, mathematics, account reconciliation, and using Microsoft Excel.
-
Demonstrates the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
-
Embraces change with a growth mindset and exhibits a strong sense of accountability tied to results.

Strong interpersonal, verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills.
