Minimum qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in people management, presales team, or similar leadership role (e.g., professional services, solutions architect, sales team, etc.)
  • Experience in a technical sales, consulting environments, or enterprise architecture or systems Engineering teams.
  • Ability to travel 35% of the time as required.

Preferred qualifications:


  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience in technical sales or professional consulting in the Public Sector Market or Private Education Companies.
  • Understanding of the broader cloud marketplace and the differentiators in offerings.
  • Ability to deliver technical presentations.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and work with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud or IT technology space.
  • Excellent people management and presentation skills.

About the job:

As a Customer Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of pre-sales engineers.

You will engage with prospects, understand and assess customer requirements, and prepare and present demonstrations of Google Cloud products and services.

You will guide the customer through implementation and production deployment, while addressing technical objections that arise throughout the sales process.


Responsibilities:


  • Organize, train, and equip the Customer Engineering (CE) team. Assess CE teams Go-ToMarket (GTM) readiness, identify gaps in preparedness, and build plans to ensure the CE team is properly trained and equipped to reach annual goals.
  • Work with the Cloud Sales team and leadership to identify, qualify, and prioritize coverage for business opportunities. Participate in periodic opportunity review meetings to provide insight.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by working with the Sales Account, Customer Support, Product Management, Customer Solutions, and Engineering teams to resolve product problems affecting customer satisfaction.
