    Solfacil is Brazil's leading and fastest growing solar technology company. Today, our fin tech business enables installers to efficiently help homeowners go solar by providing fast, easy and affordable financing solutions. We combine our financing with the distribution of solar hardware kits - including panels, inverters and batteries - in order to make the solar purchase and installation experience seamless for all parties. Solfacil is investing in product and technology to evolve into a world-class platform company and are looking for top-notch talent to join us on our mission.

    As the Vice President of Technology, you will be our most senior software leader, responsible for our core technical vision, strategy and architecture, overall engineering execution and results delivery, security, data and organizational development across our 70+ person software technology team. Your scope will be both broad and deep, including our full software stack (split across three tribes: Fin tech, Distribution and AI, Installer Platform and Customer Platform), data platform, data warehouse, PaaS, and IT.

    Our Software team is at the core of the company's operations today and becoming a world class technology organization is key to our company's future growth path. We are looking for a senior engineering leader (CTO or a very senior Director/Sr. Director) with a strong track record of success, including previous management of 50+ person engineering organizations and responsibility for software products that are core to their company's success, to take on this challenge. The right leader will possess exceptional technical DNA, deep and broad management experience within Engineering, experience in Data and/or Security, and be able to operate as a collaborative, commercially fluent member of the company leadership team.

    To be successful, you will be a strategic leader who can formulate a multi-year technical vision, strategy and architecture, rally teams and stakeholders around those ideas, and then build and operate an execution machine that can bring game changing products and technology to life. You will be capable of pulling up to the "10,000 ft. level" to understand technology trends, connect those trends to our company strategy, product strategy and customer needs, to inform our company roadmap. You will also be comfortable drilling down to ensure we're delivering the right work in the right order in the right way and getting the right results (OKRs).

    You will understand how a top-notch engineering team and top-notch engineers and engineering managers should operate, and bring that engineering culture, set of operational best practices and a coaching mindset to bear for Solfacil. You will have a bias to thoughtful action. You will be a respected leader throughout the company - someone that other teams want to work with, and someone who partners successfully across the company. You will also be a crisp communicator who is adept at storytelling and can communicate effectively across levels at the company, from CEO to IC and everyone in between.

    Core Components of Technology Scope:

    1. Finance and Origination Platform: Enable seamless and effective origination of existing loans, seamless enablement of new financial products, and seamless onboarding of new financing partners. This includes credit application, credit engine / decisioning, capital disbursement, billing, collections, and customer success along the journey for both installers and homeowners. It also includes externalized APIs.

    2. Distribution platform: Enable installers to buy, track, receive and return solar hardware to/from our distributor. Ensure seamless warehouse operations and inventory tracking. Includes our ERP.

    3. Installer Platform: Deliver efficient, effective account management for our installers, including technical troubleshooting of equipment, fleet management of solar systems they've originated with Solfacil, and resolution of care interactions.

    4. Customer Platform: Enable homeowners to track their system performance and savings, refer friends, and manage their account with Solfacil (pay bills, request a bill extension, etc).

    5. Data Platform: Ensure that our data is clean, usable, reliable and safe. Responsible for our full tech stack for data, including data warehouse and data analytics, and data governance.

    6. PaaS: Ensure our PaaS is accessible, flexible, secure and scalable. Responsible for our PaaS holistically.

    7. Security: Build a best-in-class security posture and team for Solfacil, including driving compliance with SOC2 and the NIST cybersecurity framework.

    8. IT: Ensure that Solfacil's employees have the right technology to do their jobs and that our facilities are connected and safe.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Technical Vision, Strategy Ownership and Strategy Alignment: Own and drive the overarching, multi-year technical vision, strategy, and architecture for the Software Engineering, Security, Data, Cloud, PaaS and IT teams. Ensure that technology strategy influences, informs and aligns with company and product strategies, and product roadmap.
    2. Team Leadership and Development: Provide leadership for the 70+ person technology team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Create a strong tech culture within your team, and evangelize said culture across your peer teams and Solfacil. Develop and mentor engineering talent, ensuring a high-performing and motivated team.
    3. Execution Leadership: Accountable for the execution of the full software product suite - including Fin tech, Distribution and AI, Installer Platform, and Customer Platform - data, cloud, PaaS, security, and IT. Drive the team towards building and delivering innovative and impactful technology solutions. Set and drive key technology-related performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives to achieve company goals.
    4. Operational Excellence: Implement operational best practices, identify and address bottlenecks, and establish scalable processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the engineering team.
    5. Inter-Team and Intra-Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product management, to understand overarching business needs and ensure the translation of technical strategy into actionable engineering plans. Ensure that the various engineering teams are collaborating effectively within and among each other.
    6. Adaptability and Decision-Making: Operate in a fast-paced environment, making strategic decisions and adjustments when needed. Bring structure and process to ambiguity, ensuring efficient and effective delivery.
    7. Communication and Stakeholder Alignment: Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, from leadership to individual contributors. Build strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment on technical strategy and fostering collaboration.
    8. Be a role model for your team.

    Requirements and qualifications:

    1. 15+ years of overall work experience. 9+ years of people management experience within Engineering leadership with responsibility for products that are core to a company's business. Managed organizations of 50+ engineers. Direct experience developing products and technologies related to at least 2 of the 3 core Engineering tribes - Fin Tech, ERP, and B2B / B2C / B2B2C platforms. Bonus if you have direct experience with Data and/or Security.
    2. Strong track record of delivering winning products, top-notch technology, meaningful commercial outcomes, and building and developing high performing teams. Knows what "good" looks like and has built teams in that mold.
    3. Impeccable technical acumen. Strong technical background with the ability to understand, drive and communicate critical and complex architectural decisions. Has expertise across multiple technical domains, and a baseline facility across the full tech stack. Actively builds said acumen within their team.
    4. Deep understanding of Agile development and best practices. Ensures that the team Leverages these practices in a way that is practical, relevant and outcomes-oriented (vs. academic and box checking) to ensure efficient and effective delivery.
    5. Effective leader. Operates as the CTO of their technology portfolio. Builds relationships and trust with stakeholders, team and leadership. Role models the right behaviors for their team. Operates with confidence, rigor, openness, humility and kindness.
    6. Clear, structured thinker with strong technical judgment and sufficient business understand. Can effectively formulate strategy and balance strategic imperatives with day-to-day execution. Quickly and effectively synthesizes complex information, understands the second and third order implications of decisions and drives tradeoffs accordingly.
    7. Comfortable making decisions and delivering results in a fast paced environment. Operates effectively in ambiguity. Proactively creates structure and process where needed.
    8. Clear and effective communicator. Brings the right message with the right tone to the right audience at the right level. Compelling storyteller in both Portuguese and English.
    9. Strong first-principles thinker. Gets to the root of problems and opportunities by driving to the baseline facts and logic.
