About the jobThe Red Hat Accounting team is looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant to join us in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
In this role, you will assist in both month-end accounting and the day-to-day support of financial operations.You will report to the Revenue accounting manager and work cross-functionally with the Accounting, Finance, Services, Sales, Legal, Global Business Delivery and Order Management teams.
You will also work closely with the project accounting team in LATAM. You will strive to collaborate across Red Hat.What you will do
Regularly meet with the Services team on operational matters and identify pain points in current process and lead improvement.
Comply with Red Hat's accounting and operational practices and conform to U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Oversee operations for the monthly accounting cycle, including journals, reconciliations, reporting and disclosures.
Support the daily financial operations for the LATAM Finance team by interacting with, services operations, project managers, and consultants
Provide ongoing daily support to the project accounting team and learning service team and stakeholders by responding to questions, managing relationships, providing best practices, and troubleshooting issues
Support monthly and quarterly financial close activities including reconciliation
Partnering closely with Sales, Service, Service Operations in the running of the daily operations and ensuring compliance with policies and controls.
Support effective implementation of controls through timely monitoringEngage with internal and external audit teams to support the quarterly review and annual audit activities
Analyze data and effectively present findings and insight to your stakeholders including accounting management.
What you will bring
5+ years of relevant experience in Multinational Companies.
Bachelor's degree or higher in business, accounting, or finance
Ability to manage multiple priorities under given time constraints and deadlines
Stakeholder customer management skills, both internally and externally
Solid analytical abilities with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with Oracle, or RevStream will be considering a plus
Demonstrated experience working in a cross-functional team
Knowledge of GAAP and ability to apply ASC 606 required.
English conversational and written proficiency is a must.
Spanish proficiency will be considered a plus
