Program Manager -Role Summary/Purpose

  • As a member of the project management team, you will be responsible for transit, freight components and related segments that the team currently manages projects.
  • You will deal with multifunctional teams (engineering, sourcing, quality, manufacturing, material planning, customer service, product engineering, fulfillment, logistic, process and IT) to make sure the projects will be delivered with success (ontime, at budget and right quality level).
  • Participate in projects/programs decisions; will negotiate with end customers and will transform strategy into tasks.
Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage projects for Latam, including relationship with other business units around world.
  • Daily program management throughout the program life cycle.
  • Contribute on the definition and improvements of the program governance (controls).
  • Planning the overall program and monitoring the progress.
  • Managing the project's key indicators.
  • Managing risks and opportunities, addressing issues and taking corrective measurements.
  • Managing and utilizing resources across projects.
  • Managing stakeholders' communication.
  • Aligning the deliverables (outputs) to the project's "outcome".
  • Managing the main project documentations.
  • Negotiating changes on scope/costs/lead times with customers and internally.
  • Helping the structure of the Centre of excellence to win new businesses in the region.
  • Compliance with internal company policies, procedures and rules, adhesion with our culture and values (people first, expand the possible, embrace diversity, One Wabtec).
Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering / other relevant technical degree.
  • Experience in industry and/or program/project management.
  • Demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions.
  • Influences through others; builds direct and "behind the scenes" support for ideas.
  • Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers (Road Block) on behalf of the team.
  • Shares knowledge, power, and credit, establishing trust, credibility and goodwill.
  • Strategic and systemic thinking, strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong problemsolving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments.
  • Expert in breaking down problems and estimate time for development tasks.
  • Identify new business opportunities during interactions with customers.
  • Project Management best practices skills, desired certification.
