Summary:


The 4PL Operator Team Leader will ensure the 4PL Operators, optimize execution of carrier and/or freight forwarder contracts by organizing the best means of transporting goods using all modes of rail, road, air, and sea as required.

The role will manage and supervise the whole operational execution of the 4PL processes according to the service requirements of the customer to include booking, documentation, track and trace and data integrity.


The ability to communicate both domestically and internationally to customers, co-workers and other business associates is a significant part of this position and requires a strong ability to work with culturally diverse individuals and business units.

This position involves engagement with multiple stakeholders throughout the OIA organization in a fast-paced and time sensitive environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Overseeing the whole booking process from preparation, preDGD (Dangerous Goods Declaration), booking sent and accepted, driver details, pickup and final DGD
  • Overseeing customs declaration, ISF (Import Security Filing), VGM (Verified Gross Mass), shipping instruction, draft bill of lading and documents sent to the carrier
  • Daily checks on data accuracy in all shipments.
  • Leading, coordinating and supervising, execution of all backoffice activities in accordance with the companies operating procedures.
  • Ensuring that our technology platform is used to create/maintain highly efficient processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality systems and processes
  • Keeping a clean workflow by timely executing all tasks and updating all shipments.
  • Obtaining, checking, and preparing documentation to meet customs and compliance with overseas countries' regulations and fiscal regimes.
  • Maintaining visibility and control through all phases of the process
  • Managing complete customs formalities and/or subcontracting services
  • Entering full job details into Cargowise
  • Ensuring data input processing in OIA Connect and 4PL systems
  • Assisting the Operations Manager/Supervisor with the performance review process for team member
  • Assisting with the recruitment of new operations staff within your team where required, including onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Assigning tasks to the team members in a logical and efficient manner
  • Monitoring and ensuring optimal execution of all backoffice activities by the team
  • Dealing with escalations when needed
  • Identifying areas of improvement within the team, and putting plans in place to increase performance
  • Coaching, developing, and motivating the team on operational tasks, ensuring they have the knowledge to complete their duties

  • Fluent in both written and spoken English

Education and Experience:


  • 1 plus years of experience in the freight forwarding/control tower field preferred
  • 1 plus years of leadership experience
  • Familiarity with CargoWise's Enterprise system a plus

Physical Requirements:


  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds

Other Conditions of Work:


  • The position will work in a business work shift or differently if so established by OIA Global, though, the EMPLOYEE's work shift may vary according to the requirements inherent of his/her function, in accordance with the legal limit of 44 hours per week.
