Summary / Purpose of the position

Reporting to VP Finance International, member of the LATAM Leadership Team and of the Specialty Care Finance Leadership team, the Financial Director is leading Finance activities for the total LATAM perimeter (Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Export Markets); the job holder will also be the Finance Director for Brazil.

Main responsibilities / job expectations

LATAM & Brazil Leadership Team

  • Act as a business partner for the LATAM / Brazil GM and Leadership team members
  • Lead Performance Committees, Monthly Checkin and Business reviews
  • Support the country and cluster decision making process to achieve Sales and overall profitability ambition
  • Recommend and challenge actions to maximize business capabilities on a short/long term basis
  • Whenever relevant, prepare scenarios and ensure business cases are properly translated into Financials (Actuals & Planning): Access, Pricing and competitive landscape
  • Support Midterm and longterm strategic initiatives

FP&A

  • Be the finance point of contact for the division
  • Lead performance monitoring (P&L, Profitability Analysis, Sales, working capital and Capex).
  • Improve Cash Flow generation through working capital optimization in collaboration with division and corporate treasury
  • Coordinate the financial planning processes (Strategic Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting)
  • Support the General Manager by providing analysis for proper financial / economic assessment of Operational decisions, cost control recommendations, and new business assessments.
  • Lead all closing activities across LATAM countries and ensure that group deadlines are respected, and reporting is delivered on time.

Tax & Statutory

  • Monitoring of daytoday accounting and controlling activities in close collaboration with third party accounting provided and / or local accounting teams
  • Direct responsibility for local reporting packages to Group
  • Coordination of audits (Statutory, tax and internal audits)
  • Local contact for Internal & external auditors
  • Cooperation with Corporate Finance teams (Tax, Treasury, Consolidation and Accounting Standards, Internal controls)
  • Responsible for Local Statutory Financial Statements and Tax filings / returns

Team Management

  • Lead a strong and efficient Finance team in Brazil, Mexico and Colombia
  • Ensure timely recruitment
  • Secure ongoing development & motivation and retention of the team members
  • Develop and implement talent plans with a focus on continual improvement.

Finance leadership

  • Member of the International Finance Leadership Team
  • Lead Finance initiatives at Group level to positively impact the Group Finance transformation and team engagement

Internal Controls & Risk Managements

  • Develop and maintain all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the company.
  • Ensure compliance with Company guidelines and country/ industry standards.
  • Carry out all necessary actions to ensure that the company meets its financial and statutory obligations.
  • Coordinate Risk Management plan

Efficiencies

  • Represent Procurement function in Leadership team; coordinate with central procurement team and support transformation projects including efficiencies and costs optimization

Supply Chain & other

  • Oversee the endtoend supply chain including sales forecast, inventory planning and the interface with global supply chain to ensure appropriate stock levels and risk of stock outs is mitigated.
  • Prepare the supply chain for the future including preparation for new product launches, ensure a close partnership with distributors and wholesalers.
  • Liaise with the relevant quality contact person to ensure quality systems are in place throughout the supply and product chains.
  • Support the IT Function in the region
  • Support Facilities & Administration

Knowledge, abilities & experience

Education / Certifications:

  • Solid educational background: Business school, Engineering School or master's in finance

Experience:


  • A minimum of 10 /15 years of experience in finance leadership positions
  • Experience as Finance Director in a Global organization exposed to Budgeting / Forecasting and commercial Finance
  • Solid knowledge of Statutory accounting and tax implications
  • Management experience
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical business in general
  • Expert level Excel and knowledge of at least one ERP Finance (SAP & TM1 are a plus)
