Principal Data Scientist, SR. Manager to be in
São Paulo, Brazil.

Purpose:

  • Demonstrated business (financial) impact of technical / scientific contributions
  • Proven track record as a mentor of more junior data scientists

Degree of Supervision / Autonomy

  • Works with little to no supervision, exceling with a high level of autonomy
  • Conceives, leads and executes Data Science projects either alone or as a leader member of a matrixed team

Innovation

  • 10% of time expected to be dedicated to innovative projects relevant to the healthcare space and approved by the leadership team

Nature of Communication

  • A data "storyteller" with a strong ability to translate highly technical, scientific results to a range of technical and business audiences
  • May have interaction with senior internal and external colleagues with coordination between departments
  • Engages in scientific ideation and exchange with internal and external audiences

You will be responsible for:


  • Provides thought leadership for complex business problems that require a scientific approach by leveraging indepth domain expertise and skills acquired in computational and Data Science specific programs or related fields
  • Designs experiments to test generated hypotheses to provide business insights
  • Leverage advanced analytics and visualization tools and technologies such as Python, R, Java, SQL, noSQL, Azure, AWS, Dataiku, Data Robot, Kubernetes, Cloudera, DataBricks, etc.
  • Integrate and leverage data sets that drive analytical solutions from a variety of data sources including structured, unstructured, voice, image, video, social media and streaming data
  • Produce results with measurable scientific or business impact, resulting in demonstrated financial impact or work product of scientific value (patents, publications, podium presentations)
  • Mentor more junior data scientists within the immediate organization

Qualifications:


Qualifications and requirements:


  • Ph.
D. with 5 years of experience, or M.S.

with 8 years of relevant experience, in Mathematical Sciences, Computer Sciences, Statistics, Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence, Physics, Economics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Informatics, Medical Informatics, Computational Biology or a related discipline.


  • Minimum 1 publication, patent, or national/international podium presentations on directly relevant work
