    About the role What you need to know:

    Key Responsibilities:

    Actively manage direct and indirect tax compliance by ensuring submission of statutory tax returns and informative statements in an accurate and timely manner, and Actively manage all tax input to statutory accounts and regulatory returns, where applicable.

    Manage and lead tax controversy and liaise with external advisors and tax authorities as required.

    Manage US GAAP tax reporting requirementsManage tax specific projects and interaction with finance projects Guide finance staff with their technical tax questions; assisting with technical questions, tax opportunities, compliance, deferred tax, transfer pricing, tax basis balance sheet, tax calculations).Co-ordinate with in-house regional tax specialist teams, such as operations, VAT, employment taxes and transfer pricing, as requiredTo provide accurate and timely support both within the tax and finance function and wider areas of the business Build, maintain and develop strategic relationships with key internal and external (including advisors and local tax regulatory bodies) stakeholders to support delivery of tax advice to finance and the business organizationEnsure best practices/policies and consistent procedures are applied in the countryWhat we're looking for: Strong financial acumen with local tax experienceBring best practices, policies and procedures to the organizationFlexible self-starter with strong organization skills showing attention to detailResponsive to time pressure and ability to work to agreed deadlines and objectivesAble to identify, assess and communicate relevant issues on a timely basisTeam player with ability to build relationship with different parts of the businessAbility to manage a teamGood level of Brazilian tax experience in the Insurance industry or Financial servicesExperience with complex technical activities within a regulated environmentFluent EnglishGood Knowledge of AccountancyExperience of negotiating with tax authoritiesPrior work experience in a multinational organization and matrix reporting structure We are an Equal Opportunity Employer American International Group, Inc., its subsidiaries and affiliates are committed to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and its policies and procedures reflect this commitment.
