The position

By joining our team in Exploration & Production International you will have the opportunity to:
As a key team member of the team you will need to:

  • Deliver state-of-the-art geological sample descriptions and interpretations, utilizing the full range of relevant data available (including: thin sections, wireline data, laboratory measurements, dynamic data).
  • Work together with Equinor subsurface and digital experts to develop workflows and methodologies for characterization of presalt reservoirs.
  • Act as a core member of the Presalt Center of Excellence with the responsibility to ensure knowledge transfer and experience between relevant business units.

For this position, we are also looking for:

  • Bachelor in Geology, with specialization in carbonate sedimentology, diagenesis, stratigraphy and petrography. Master ́s level education is a plus.
  • Experience working with Presalt carbonate reservoirs in the South Atlantic area is desirable.
  • Proven expertise in detailed geologic description of carbonate cores, thinsections and ditch cuttings and integration/interpretation of the same with subsurface data such as wireline log data is a requirement.
  • Familiarity with different types of rock analysis techniques, including microscopes, cathodoluminescence, fluid inclusions, XRD, XRF, SEM, stable isotopes and associated analytical data (e.g. RCA, SCAL) is essential.
  • Desirable geological software skills: RMS, Geolog, OpenWorks, DSG, WellCAD
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
