Summary / purpose of the position

To provide non-promotional, high level scientific, medical and technical support to Ipsen's external (Health Care Professionals) and internal (Sales Representatives, KAMs, MAMs, Medical Function, Marketing) stakeholders.

Act as a role model of leadership and mentorship for other MSLs in order to support the performance and capability of the team as a whole.

Main responsibilities / job expectations

Provide scientific information:


  • Respond professionally and in a timely, balanced and scientifically rigorous manner to requests relating to clinical information and data regarding diseasespecific issues in Ipsen's marketed products, onlabel or offlabel, and in pipeline research programs and products from Ipsen, through the appropriate and preferred channel.

Develop and maintain knowledge:

  • Support Healthcare Professionals in an active/reactive manner by providing them with scientific and clinical data in line with Ipsen SOPs and country regulatory practice.
  • Participate in scientific congresses with the aim of interacting scientifically with Healthcare Professionals, improving knowledge in relevant therapeutic areas and acquiring uptodate knowledge in order to be able to conduct current and quality scientific discussions with Healthcare Professionals in accordance with SOPs of Ipsen and the country's regulatory practice.
  • Support teams in organizing and conducting national and regional events and discussions related to medical education in order to stimulate scientific exchange between physicians in relevant therapeutic areas in line with the medical strategy and with Ipsen SOPs and the country's regulatory practice.
  • Assist in the development and training of Ipsen's internal teams.

Provide medical support:


  • Provide scientific support during relevant external activities.
  • Support Ipsen speakers at local Ipsen scientific meetings, if requested by Healthcare Professionals, assisting them in preparing slides (if required) and briefings for speakers in accordance with local regulatory practices.
  • Reactively collect and evaluate investigatorinitiated study proposals, and support/facilitate their realization where necessary, in line with Ipsen's strategy and local regulatory standards.
  • Gather and disseminate competitive intelligence from multiple sources.
  • Be the interface between the medical community and Ipsen's internal teams, bringing valueadded insights that help direct Ipsen's medical, commercial and research and development activities, in order to address the highlighted gaps with a focus on meeting the needs of patients.

Regulation, compliance and governance:

  • Scientific support must be informed, balanced, up-to-date and in compliance with Ipsen SOPs and local regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining high standards of professional conduct, in line with the Ipsen Company's Standard Operating Procedures, with a duty to uphold the company's reputation.
  • Work in accordance with good market practices and in line with Ipsen's business ethics policies.

Knowledge, abilities & experience

Education / Certifications:

  • Degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, or equivalent with a solid medical/technical background, ideally with an MSc and/or PhD.

Experience:


  • Previous MSL experience is mandatory
  • Experience in the therapeutic field of oncology is a plus
  • Ability to interact externally and internally to support business strategy
  • Good knowledge of clinical trial methodology, regulatory requirements governing clinical trials, and experience in strategy development and protocol design
  • Proven leadership skills in a crossfunctional team environment
  • Proven negotiation skills, presentation skills, business and market knowledge
  • Ability to understand and convey emerging scientific information
  • Organizational skills, ability to prioritize and selfmotivated
  • Ability to work effectively in an everchanging environment
  • Solid ethical principles
  • Support and adherence to the principles of inclusion and diversity

Languages:

  • Fluent in Portuguese
  • Good oral and written English communication skills

Key Technical Competencies Required

  • Pharmaceutical market
  • Knowledge and understanding of Pharmacovigilance legislation
  • Knowledge and understanding of GCP legislation
