    Location: Curitiba- PR, Brazil
    Work model: Hybrid (2 days at the office, 3 days remote).

    About the Role:

    Are you a Software Engineering Manager with a talent for leading technology teams to success? Join our dynamic team in Brazil. As the leader responsible for Wiley's Author Services platforms, you will significantly impact our software delivery capabilities. Collaborate with our global technology leadership team to ensure efficient and high-performance software development.

    How you will contribute:
    • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with technical leaders to create and execute a solid software engineering strategy aligned with business goals.
    • Mentorship and Guidance: Share your knowledge by mentoring team members in areas like architecture, software development, and interpersonal skills to foster professional growth.
    • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance software development practices, driving innovation and efficiency.
    • Effective Management: Plan, direct, and coordinate software development activities for timely, high-quality solutions. Manage team members, encourage team development, and address performance issues proactively.
    • Talent Development and Recruitment: Develop team members through training and coaching, and play a key role in recruiting top talent.


    What we seek:
    • Educational Background: Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
    • Managerial Experience: Track record as a technology manager with expertise in software development.
    • Methodology Proficiency: Proficient in Agile/Scrum and SAFe frameworks.
    • Technical Skills: Proficient in software engineering with hands-on Java and SpringBoot experience.
    • Automation Expertise: Knowledgeable in CI/CD, Containers, Orchestration, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
    • Leadership Qualities: Self-motivated with strong team and service-oriented mindset.
    • Language Proficiency: Fluent in Portuguese and English.
    • Distributed Services Experience: Experience with distributed services in a dynamic environment.
